A family dispute is believed to have triggered a fight involving three men outside a shop in Plentong, Johor, which recently went viral on social media.
Seri Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said all three men, aged between 27 and 60, had been arrested to assist investigations.
He said police detected a video showing the incident after it was uploaded to a Facebook account on Saturday.
“Initial investigations found that all three suspects are related to one another, while the fight was also believed to have stemmed from family issues.
“Checks revealed that none of the suspects had any previous criminal records,” he said in a statement on Sunday.
The case is being investigated under Sections 324 and 160 of the Penal Code.
Mohd Sohaimi added that the three suspects had been remanded for three days until November 3 to assist with investigations.
Earlier, a separate video lasting two minutes and 54 seconds went viral, showing an elderly man allegedly being pushed, kicked and slapped by another man outside a car wash shop in Plentong.
The footage sparked widespread criticism online, with social media users expressing sympathy for the elderly victim and questioning the man’s actions.
