Police Investigate Woman Accused of Assaulting Two Children at Kuala Lumpur Shopping Mall

Date:

Police are investigating an incident involving a woman allegedly assaulting two children, aged two and seven, at a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

The incident reportedly took place at around 3pm, when the woman allegedly pushed a seven-year-old boy from behind, causing him to fall, before hitting a two-year-old girl’s head from behind.

Dang Wangi district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Azwan Amin Nordin said police received a report at 7.39pm from a 36-year-old man, who is the father of both children.

“The complainant was walking with his two children when the incident occurred. The case is still under investigation,” he said in a statement on Sunday.

Police have also detected a 35-second video circulating on the social media platform Threads, showing an argument between two individuals at a shopping mall.

Ahmad Azwan said police were treating the matter seriously and conducting a thorough investigation to establish the actual circumstances surrounding the incident.

He urged the public not to speculate, spread accusations or circulate unverified information that could interfere with the investigation.

Anyone with information about the incident can contact the Kuala Lumpur Police Hotline at 03-2115 9999, Dang Wangi district police headquarters at 03-2600 2222, or visit the nearest police station.
