Firefighters Search For Four Women Lost While Hiking In Jenderam Hilir

Firefighters are currently conducting a search and rescue operation for four women who went missing while hiking at Bukit Tunggul in Lorong Bahagia, Jenderam Hilir, near here today.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the department received an emergency call at 10.13am after the group was reported to have lost their way while descending the hill.

He said a team from the Dengkil Fire and Rescue Station was immediately deployed and arrived at the scene at 10.50am to carry out the operation.

The four hikers, aged between 25 and 40, have since been contacted and are believed to be safe, although they are still unable to locate their way out of the hiking trail.

“Our personnel are actively working to locate and guide them out safely,” he said when contacted.

Mukhlis added that six firefighters, led by operations commander Muhamad Sakirin Selamat, are involved in the ongoing search effort.

The operation is still continuing as of the latest update.
