Five Police Personnel Questioned Over Alleged Misconduct And Corruption Claims

Date:

Police have recorded statements from five officers, including a police station chief, as part of an investigation into allegations of misconduct and corruption that recently went viral on social media.

Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Fadil Marsus said authorities have already initiated action and investigations are currently underway.

He said the Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (JIPS) and the Wangsa Maju District Police Headquarters have been directed to conduct a thorough probe into the allegations.

“At this stage, investigations are ongoing to determine whether the incident actually occurred, whether there is a factual basis to the claims, or if they are merely accusations without merit,” he told reporters after the launch of the 2025 Traffic Awareness Advocacy Programme at SMK Alam Damai on Friday.

According to Fadil, all individuals implicated in the allegations remain on active duty pending the outcome of the investigation.

“No further action has been taken for now as the investigation is still in progress. If any wrongdoing is established, appropriate action will be taken,” he said.

The probe follows allegations circulating on social media in which several residents claimed that a police station chief in Wangsa Maju and several officers were involved in abuse of power and corrupt practices.

The claims have attracted widespread public attention, prompting police authorities to launch an internal investigation to establish the facts surrounding the allegations.

Fadil stressed that the matter would be handled in accordance with established procedures and that no conclusions would be drawn until investigations are completed.

The case remains under investigation by the relevant authorities.
