Four Teenagers Feared Drowned After Swimming At Johor Beach

Four 16-year-old boys are feared to have drowned after they got into difficulties while swimming at Tanjung Lompat beach in Tanjung Balau here on Wednesday morning.

The Johor Fire and Rescue Department operations centre received an emergency call at about 8.19am and immediately dispatched six personnel from the Bandar Penawar Fire and Rescue Station to the location.

According to the department, members of the public initially reported that six teenagers had encountered trouble while swimming in the waters off the beach.

Two of the six victims were pulled to safety by members of the public at about 7.45am, before the fire and rescue team reached the scene.

The four teenagers who remain missing have been identified as Alif Taqiudin, Haiman, Adib Rizqi and Thaqif Rayyan.

The group is believed to have been among 15 teenagers who travelled to the area for a camping trip on Tuesday.

A search and rescue operation has since been launched to locate the four missing teenagers, with rescuers continuing efforts in the area.
