Heavy Rain And Strong Winds Expected In Several Northern Regions

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning affecting several areas in the northern states of Peninsular Malaysia as well as Johor, with adverse weather expected until 12 noon today.

In a statement, MetMalaysia said the warning covers the entire state of Perlis and Penang, along with several districts in Kedah and Johor, following forecasts of severe weather conditions during the period.

In Kedah, the affected areas include Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Yan, Pendang and Kuala Muda, which are expected to experience heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds.

Meanwhile, in Johor, the districts of Tangkak, Muar and Batu Pahat are also forecast to face similar weather conditions.

MetMalaysia added that the entire state of Penang is also under the warning, with adverse weather expected to persist through midday.
