Medan Selera 223 in Section 51A, Petaling Jaya was hit by flash floods again following heavy rain on Saturday.
The incident marked the third time the food court has experienced flash floods after similar incidents were reported on April 20 and May 6.
A TikTok livestream recording showed several traders and members of the public wading through floodwaters, while business items were moved to higher areas to prevent them from being damaged.
During the first incident on April 20, water levels were reported to have reached waist height before another flash flood occurred about two weeks later.
The May 6 flooding affected around 60 stalls, with water rising to 1.2 metres deep and several vehicles in the parking area also submerged.
The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) previously stated that the flooding was caused by rainfall exceeding 60 millimetres within a short period from upstream areas in Kuala Lumpur.
The heavy downpour caused Sungai Penchala to be unable to cope with the increased water flow, while backflow from Sungai Klang also occurred after the river reached maximum capacity.
Riverbank repair works that narrowed the downstream water flow were also identified as one of the factors contributing to the overflow during heavy rainfall.
In a separate incident, a car was reported to have been submerged up to window level near the Public Service Golf Club (KGPA) along Jalan Damansara.
Flash floods also affected areas near offices in Section 51A, leaving several vehicles stranded.
Footage from the scene showed at least six cars partially submerged after floodwaters rose to around half the height of the vehicles.
Meanwhile, the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said its team was deployed to flood-affected areas around Petaling Jaya after receiving an emergency call regarding the incident at 4.35pm.
Selangor JBPM Assistant Director of Operations Ashrul Riezal Ashbar said 12 firefighters together with a vehicle from the Petaling Jaya Fire and Rescue Station were sent to the location, which was about four kilometres away.
He said the team arrived at the scene at 4.55pm and found the area affected by flash floods with water levels reaching about two metres deep.
However, he added that the water level had started to recede and no victims were involved or required evacuation.
