Housewife dies after four-day fight for life following Felda Palong crash

A 56-year-old housewife has died after succumbing to injuries sustained in a road accident at Jalan Besar Felda Palong 4, 5 and 6 last Thursday.

Jempol District Police Chief Superintendent Norhisham Mustapar said the incident occurred at about 8.30am when the victim was riding a Honda Y100 motorcycle from Palong Timur heading towards Palong 5 village.

He said the woman was attempting to turn right into a junction when she was suddenly struck by a Yamaha Avantiz motorcycle ridden by a 32-year-old man approaching from Palong Timur.

As a result of the collision, the victim suffered head injuries and was rushed to Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital in Kuala Pilah for treatment, while the other motorcyclist sustained only minor injuries to the lip.

Police confirmed that the victim passed away at 2pm after four days of fighting for her life.

Authorities have urged witnesses to come forward to assist investigations by contacting investigating officer Insp Mohd Amirul Syafiq Mohd Yusof at 016-234 8669.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
