An Ipoh food court has appealed to the public for help identifying a man who allegedly walked into its toilet and left with three faucets.
The “巴占新市镇巴刹美食中心” shared CCTV images on Facebook showing the man entering the premises at around 4pm on Sept 23 before heading to the men’s toilet.
He was later seen leaving the food court, apparently unaware that the CCTV had captured what appeared to be several faucets protruding from his shorts’ pockets.
In its Facebook post, the food court questioned why the man had allegedly taken the faucets after initially entering the premises simply to use the toilet.
“You’re more than welcome to use the toilet, but you can’t steal all of the faucets either. Are you joking? Does your home need the faucets?” it wrote.
Photos shared by the food court also showed the aftermath, with three faucets apparently having been forcefully removed from the men’s toilet.
The incident drew disbelief and outrage online, with many expressing surprise that even toilet fixtures were seemingly not safe from theft.
One social media user jokingly suggested that faucets and air fresheners at petrol stations might need to be locked up to prevent similar incidents.
Others urged the food court to lodge a police report so that the man could be identified and apprehended.
