Johor Immigration Raids Budget Hotel, Four Foreign Women Arrested Over Prostitution

Date:

The Johor Immigration Department (JIM) successfully dismantled a prostitution operation at a budget hotel in Kebun Teh on Tuesday, detaining four foreign women in the process.

Datuk Mohd Rusdi Mohd Darus, Director of JIM Johor, said the operation, which began at 4 p.m., was carried out following public tips and intelligence reports.

“During the raid, enforcement officers arrested three Laotian women and one Filipino woman who were believed to be managing the premises,” he said.

Initial checks revealed that the hotel was offering sexual services for RM230 per session, arranged through the Telegram app.

The detainees, aged between 20 and 39, are suspected of engaging in immoral activities and have committed offenses under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and Immigration Regulations 1963.

“They are currently held at the Setia Tropika Immigration Depot for further investigation. During the operation, a Form 29 witness summons was also issued to assist with the inquiry,” he added.

Datuk Mohd Rusdi emphasized that operations like these will continue to combat organized crimes, including prostitution and human trafficking. He urged the public to report any suspicious activities in their areas.
