Johor Police Summon Seven Witnesses in Case of 10-Year-Old Cancer Patient Allegedly Bullied

Date:

Johor police have recorded statements from seven individuals, including classmates, in connection with the case of a 10-year-old boy with nasopharyngeal cancer who was allegedly bullied at a religious school.

The boy’s mother had earlier claimed that her son suffered a concussion in February after being assaulted by a 12-year-old student. She also alleged that this was not the first incident, stating he had been bullied twice within six months by different schoolmates.

Johor Police Chief, Commissioner (CP) Ab Rahaman Arsad, confirmed the investigation today after visiting the boy and his parents at a private hospital, where the child is still receiving treatment and observation.

According to Rahaman, the seven witnesses include medical personnel, classmates, and family members. However, more witnesses may be called depending on the findings of the medical report, which has yet to be finalized as the victim’s treatment is still ongoing.

The boy is reported to be suffering from concussion, memory loss, and difficulty concentrating as a result of the alleged bullying. His mother, 39, lodged two separate police reports—one in March and another last week—at the Skudai and Larkin police stations.
