A dramatic dashcam video has gone viral after capturing a Perodua Kelisa flipping onto its side while attempting to avoid a Proton Iriz that allegedly cut into its lane along Jalan Meru heading towards Klang near Taman Sri Pekan on Thursday afternoon.
The footage shows traffic building up in one lane before a Proton Iriz suddenly emerges from the queue and moves into the right lane without appearing to activate its indicator signal.
At the time, the Perodua Kelisa was travelling along the right lane when the Iriz allegedly entered its path, leaving the driver with little time to react.
In an apparent attempt to avoid a collision, the Kelisa swerved sharply to the right but crashed into a roadside concrete barrier. The impact caused the compact vehicle to overturn and land on its side.
The shocking incident was recorded by a dashboard camera from a nearby vehicle and quickly spread across social media, where many viewers expressed concern for the safety of the Kelisa driver.
Adding to the outrage online, the video appeared to show the Proton Iriz continuing its journey after the crash instead of stopping at the scene.
Many netizens criticised the alleged manoeuvre, arguing that sudden lane changes without proper signalling can place other motorists at serious risk, particularly on busy roads with fast-moving traffic.
At the time of writing, no official information has been released regarding the identity of the drivers involved, the extent of any injuries sustained, or whether a police report has been lodged.
The incident has reignited discussions on road safety, with many calling for motorists to exercise greater caution, use indicators when changing lanes and remain vigilant to prevent similar accidents from occurring.
