KLIA Woman Detained, Receiving Care as Police Trace Family

Date:

The police are still trying to locate the family of a local woman who allegedly lived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 for about a year.

KLIA police chief ACP Azman Shari’at confirmed that the woman, detained on December 18, is currently receiving treatment at Kajang Hospital.

“Once her condition stabilises, she will be placed at an appropriate care centre,” he said.

Investigations are ongoing to determine how the woman came to reside at the airport for such an extended period.

A video showing the woman reportedly living at the terminal with her personal belongings went viral on social media earlier. She is believed to have relied on public facilities at KLIA, including free internet access, air conditioning, and water supply.

Police confirmed that the woman was found in possession of a card indicating mental health-related issues. Authorities are coordinating with relevant agencies to ensure she receives proper care.
