Labourer Arrested With RM110,000 Worth Of Ecstasy In Simpang Renggam

A 35-year-old labourer was arrested after police seized more than 1kg of ecstasy pills worth about RM110,000 in a raid near Jalan Pasar, Simpang Renggam, Kluang.

Kluang district police chief ACP Bahrin Mohd Noh said the suspect, who has eight prior criminal and drug-related records, was detained during an operation at about 12.15am on Wednesday.

He said a search of the suspect led to the discovery of 13 packets of ecstasy weighing 1.12kg.

A preliminary urine test also returned positive for methamphetamine.

Following the arrest, the suspect was remanded for seven days until Monday to assist investigations.

Police are also probing whether the drugs were intended for distribution around the market area.

The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Authorities have urged the public to come forward with any information related to the case by contacting the nearest police station or the Kluang district police headquarters.
