A local man was arrested after allegedly threatening to shoot an officer from the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) while the officer was carrying out official duties.
Klang Selatan district police chief Assistant Commissioner Lim Jit Huey said the 46-year-old suspect was detained on the same day a report was lodged by an assistant environmental health officer under AKPS.
He said initial checks found that the suspect had no previous criminal record, while investigations are still ongoing to complete the case.
“The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code, which provides for imprisonment of up to seven years, a fine, or both upon conviction,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
Earlier reports stated that an AKPS officer was allegedly threatened with being shot by an individual believed to be an agent while performing official duties.
Police are continuing investigations into the incident.
