A 35-year-old man was fined a total of RM5,800 after pleading guilty to hurting his ex-girlfriend and threatening to kill her during an argument in Inanam.
Mohd Aideed Husein pleaded guilty before two Magistrates, Dzul Elmy Yunus and Marilyn Kelvin, to separate charges involving the 30-year-old woman on Sept 15.
Before Dzul Elmy, he was fined RM1,800, or six months in jail if he failed to pay, under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt to the woman outside a shop at Lorong Suria Inanam 1.
He was separately fined RM4,000 by Marilyn, with a nine-month jail term in default, after pleading guilty to a charge under Section 506 of the Penal Code for threatening to kill the woman at the same location and on the same day.
The court heard that the couple had an argument inside a car before Mohd Aideed allegedly threatened to kill the woman if she ended their relationship.
He then hit and bit her on her right arm, the court was told.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Akaash Singh prosecuted the case, while Mohd Aideed was not represented by a lawyer.
