A 61-year-old man was found dead at the observation tower in Kepong Metropolitan Park on Tuesday.
Sentul district police chief Assistant Commissioner Anuar Bakri Abdul Salam said forensic officers who examined the scene found no significant external injuries on the man.
Investigators also found no signs of a struggle or criminal activity at the scene.
A post-mortem conducted at Kuala Lumpur Hospital yesterday determined that the cause of death was compression of the neck due to hanging, Anuar said in a statement.
Blood samples from the deceased were collected and sent to the Chemistry Department for further analysis.
The case has been classified as sudden death, with further investigations carried out in accordance with established procedures, he added.
