Man Killed After Car Collides With Lorry Along Bintulu-Samalaju Coastal Road

A man was killed after the car he was driving collided with a lorry along the Bintulu-Samalaju Coastal Road yesterday.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from the Kidurong Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call at around 8.41am.

Upon arrival, the team found that the crash involved a car and a lorry, with the driver trapped inside his vehicle.

Firefighters immediately carried out an operation to extricate the trapped victim from the driver’s seat.

The man was successfully removed from the vehicle before being handed over to a medical team from the Ministry of Health for further assessment.

However, the medical team subsequently confirmed that the victim had died at the scene.

Firefighters then carried out safety checks at the location before concluding the operation at around 10am and returning to the station.
