Man Shot Six Times By Two Men At Car Wash In Penang

A 38-year-old man died while receiving treatment after being shot six times by two men at a car wash in Jalan Besar Permatang Keling last night.

Penang police said the victim was approached by the two men, who were on a motorcycle, during the 10:20pm incident. The assailants opened fire at close range, striking the victim multiple times.

He was rushed to Parit Buntar Hospital in Perak before being referred to Taiping Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Penang police chief Datuk Azizee Ismail confirmed the incident and said the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

The offence carries the death penalty or imprisonment of 30 to 40 years, along with a minimum of 12 strokes of the cane if the death sentence is not imposed.
