MetMalaysia Issues Thunderstorm Warning For Eight States Until 6PM

Jabatan Meteorologi Malaysia (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning involving heavy rain and strong winds expected to hit eight states, including Sabah and Sarawak, until 6pm today.

In a statement on Saturday, MetMalaysia said the severe weather is forecast to affect several areas in Kedah, Perak, Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.

In Kedah, the affected districts include Kota Setar, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda and Sik, while in Perak the warning covers Manjung and Perak Tengah.

In Terengganu, Kemaman is expected to be affected, while in Pahang the alert covers Kuantan. In Selangor, Hulu Langat is listed, while in Negeri Sembilan, Jelebu and Seremban are on the list.

In Sarawak, the affected areas are Sarikei (Sibu) and Mukah (Tanjung Manis and Daro).

In Sabah, the warning covers several interior and coastal areas including Keningau and Tambunan, Papar and Penampang, as well as Kinabatangan in Sandakan Division.
