A social media influencer known for sharing paranormal-themed content has been found alive but in a weakened condition after being reported missing for two days in Melaka.
The 34-year-old man was discovered by members of the public inside a public toilet near the Skytrex Adventure area at Taman Botanikal at approximately 3.03pm on Sunday.
Melaka Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Public Relations Officer, Deputy Fire Superintendent II Mohd Hafidzatullah Rashid, said emergency responders had earlier launched a search operation after receiving a report of a missing person at 12.18pm.
Following the report, two fire engines and seven personnel from the Ayer Keroh Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene within minutes. Search efforts were focused around a resort and several areas within Taman Botanikal, with assistance from the police and the Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Corporation (SWCorp).
The influencer was later transported to Hospital Melaka for medical treatment. His current condition has not been disclosed.
Mohd Hafidzatullah urged members of the public and volunteers to immediately notify authorities whenever a missing person or emergency situation occurs, stressing that JBPM remains the lead agency for rescue operations in Malaysia under directives from the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) and the National Security Council (MKN).
He warned that individuals conducting independent search operations without coordinating with authorities could create additional safety risks and potentially complicate rescue efforts.
“Delayed notifications can significantly expand the search radius, increase resource deployment and create unnecessary challenges for emergency agencies,” he said.
Meanwhile, Acting Melaka Tengah Police Chief Superintendent Halim Abas revealed that the influencer had been conducting a paranormal-themed live stream at a resort on Friday night.
According to police, the live broadcast began at around 8.30pm but was abruptly cut off at approximately 9pm. Concern grew when friends were unable to contact him despite repeated phone calls and WhatsApp messages.
After receiving no response, a missing person report was lodged, prompting authorities to begin investigations and search operations.
The unusual circumstances surrounding the disappearance had attracted widespread attention online before the influencer was eventually found safe, bringing relief to family members, friends and followers who had been closely monitoring developments.
