A two-year-old boy who was reported missing after he was believed to have fallen from Sultan Nazrin Shah Bridge here has been found dead after nearly 17 hours of search and rescue operations.
The body of Wong Long Hee was the final victim recovered after the body of Mohd Nor Firdaus Mohd Mokhtar, 42, was found floating in the river at 11.59am today.
The boy’s mother, Lim Li Yin, 38, who was also believed to have fallen from the same bridge, was found by the rescue team at about 7.15pm yesterday.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Sayani Saidon said Long Hee’s body was discovered by the search and rescue (SAR) team at around 2pm, approximately 10 kilometres from Sultan Nazrin Shah Bridge.
He said the victim’s remains were later handed over to the police before being taken to Teluk Intan Hospital for further action.
The SAR operation involving multiple agencies was subsequently concluded after all three victims linked to the two separate incidents had been found.
Yesterday, reports stated that two separate incidents occurred at Sultan Nazrin Shah Bridge, involving a man and a mother with her young child who were believed to have fallen from the bridge.
