Motorcyclist Killed After Plunging 20 Metres Into Ravine

A motorcyclist was killed after his vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a ravine about 20 metres deep near the ASPA Cottage flyover area on Friday.

The victim, identified as 46-year-old Zahidan Nor from Kampung Cherating, was confirmed dead at the scene.

Pahang Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Mohd Salahuddin Isa said the department received an emergency call at 7.18pm regarding the incident.

A total of 13 firefighters, including the station chief from the Gebeng Fire and Rescue Station, were deployed to the location together with a Light Fire Rescue Tender (LFRT) and an Urvan van.

Upon arrival, rescuers found that a motorcycle had gone off the road, with the rider falling into a ravine approximately 20 metres deep.

Firefighters carried out a high rope rescue operation, deploying two personnel into the ravine to retrieve the victim using a stretcher.

The victim was found unconscious with injuries to his arms and legs, and was later confirmed dead at the scene before his body was handed over to police for further action.
