Motorcyclist Killed In Three-Vehicle Crash On Jalan Pintasan Semeling

Date:

A 22-year-old factory worker was killed in a tragic road accident involving three vehicles along Jalan Pintasan Semeling last night.

The victim, identified as Muhammad Hafizi Muhammad Rizal from Penaga, Seberang Perai Utara, Penang, died from severe head injuries in the 9pm incident.

Kuala Muda District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Hanyan Ramlan, said preliminary investigations showed that two cars, a Perodua Axia and a Perodua Bezza, were travelling from Lembah Bujang towards Semeling when the crash occurred.

Suddenly, a Yamaha 135LC motorcycle ridden by the victim is believed to have lost control from the opposite direction before entering the path of the oncoming vehicles.

Such sudden road incidents often highlight the dangers of split-second loss of control, particularly on busy connecting routes with mixed traffic flow.

Due to the close proximity, both car drivers were unable to avoid the fallen motorcyclist, resulting in a fatal collision.

The victim sustained severe head injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene.

Authorities later sent the victim’s remains to the Forensic Unit of Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital (HSAH) in Sungai Petani for post-mortem examination.

The drivers of both vehicles, a 28-year-old saleswoman driving the Bezza and a 21-year-old student driving the Axia, escaped unhurt.

Police confirmed the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact sequence of events leading to the fatal crash.
