Motorcyclist, Passenger Injured After Crashing Into Suddenly Opened Car Door

Date:

A motorcyclist and his passenger were injured after their motorcycle collided with a car door that was suddenly opened along Jalan Bunga Mawar 3, Taman Muda, on Sunday morning.

Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Khairul Anuar Khalid said police received a report regarding the incident at about 12.45pm.

He said preliminary investigations found that the accident occurred at around 7.15am when the motorcyclist and passenger were travelling from Tasik Permai towards Taman Muda.

“While travelling straight, a car had stopped and its rear left passenger opened the door.

“The motorcyclist was unable to avoid it and crashed into the door,” he said in a statement today.

The impact caused both the rider and passenger to fall onto the roadside and sustain injuries. They were subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.

Khairul Anuar said investigations found that the accident was caused by the negligence of the car passenger, who had opened the door without due care.

A compound was issued to the car driver under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules LN 166/59.
