Motorcyclist Thrown Into Air In Three-Vehicle Crash At Banting Junction

Date:

A dramatic three-vehicle collision involving a car and two motorcycles was captured on a dashboard camera in Bandar Sungai Emas, Banting, after a turning vehicle allegedly failed to notice oncoming traffic.

The incident, believed to have occurred recently, ended without any fatalities despite one of the motorcyclists being thrown into the air by the impact.

Dashcam footage circulating on social media showed a black car attempting to make a turn after another vehicle slowed down to give way. However, the turning driver allegedly proceeded without ensuring the road was clear.

Within seconds, two motorcycles travelling at high speed crashed into the side of the turning car in quick succession.

One rider was launched over the vehicle and landed on the opposite side of the car, while the second rider lost control just before impact, fell back onto the road and managed to get up almost immediately, appearing to have escaped with only minor injuries.

The viral video sparked widespread debate online, with many social media users saying all three parties shared responsibility for the crash.

Some argued the driver should have ensured the road was completely clear before making the turn, regardless of being given way by another motorist. Others criticised the two motorcyclists for travelling at excessive speed, leaving them with little time to react to the sudden manoeuvre.

Several netizens also questioned the decision of the vehicle that stopped to give way, saying excessive courtesy in congested traffic can sometimes create blind spots and increase the risk of accidents.

Kuala Langat District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Amarul Azmi confirmed the incident when contacted on Monday, saying no fatalities were reported and the injured victims are in stable condition.

Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
