A foreign traveller has sparked widespread outrage after allegedly allowing a child to defecate into a rubbish bin in full view of other passengers at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 (KLIA T2).
The incident came to light through a post on social media platform Threads, where a woman claimed she witnessed the shocking scene while waiting to board a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Penang.
According to the woman, the child’s father was seen holding the youngster over a rubbish bin while the child relieved himself, leaving the boarding gate area filled with what she described as a strong foul odour.
She said she was baffled by the parents’ actions, pointing out that public toilets were located just a short distance away from the boarding area.
The woman further claimed that after the incident, the child’s mother calmly walked to the nearby restroom to wash her hands, as if nothing had happened, prompting her to criticise the parents for showing a complete lack of consideration for others in a public space.
A video of the alleged incident has since gone viral, triggering widespread criticism from social media users.
Many netizens condemned the travellers’ behaviour, arguing that there was no justification for allowing such an act to take place in a busy airport when proper restroom facilities were readily available.
Others called on travellers to practise better public hygiene and civic responsibility, stressing that shared public spaces should be treated with respect and consideration for fellow passengers.
