Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has received a High Court order allowing him to serve the remainder of his prison sentence under house arrest after his RM50 million fine was paid.
His lawyer, Muhammad Farhan Muhammad Shafee, confirmed that the payment was completed this morning.
He said the house arrest order was issued pursuant to the royal pardon granted to Najib.
According to Farhan, the order would be delivered to Kajang Prison immediately.
However, Najib will not be released straight away, as further procedures must first be completed before he can leave prison to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest.
