Nga Kor Ming Urges Public to Stop Littering, Says It Shames the Nation

Date:

Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming has urged the public to act responsibly and stop littering, warning that such behaviour embarrasses the country.

His reminder came after Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) shared images on Wednesday showing rubbish strewn across Bukit Bintang, believed to have been left behind following Christmas celebrations.

“It is already the 21st century. There is no excuse for throwing rubbish in public spaces,” Nga said in a post on X.
“It is shameful to see such irresponsible behaviour. Do not blame the government when strict enforcement is carried out.”

Earlier, DBKL posted photographs on its Facebook page showing piles of rubbish along streets in Bukit Bintang, alongside ongoing cleaning operations by city workers.

DBKL said a small number of irresponsible individuals continue to litter indiscriminately, tarnishing the city’s cleanliness and damaging Kuala Lumpur’s image as a tourist destination.
