Police have launched an investigation into a group brawl involving several foreign nationals at a restaurant in Jalan Memanda 7/1, Ampang Jaya, on Saturday night.
Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Khairul Anuar Khalid said the incident occurred at about 11pm at My BBQ Restaurant.
He said the fight resulted in one man suffering minor injuries, while the premises also sustained damage during the incident.
“Police also detected a video related to the incident that went viral on the Threads application on Sunday,” he said in a statement.
The incident gained attention after footage showing a group of individuals involved in a confrontation at the restaurant was circulated on social media.
Khairul Anuar said police are investigating the case under Sections 148, 323 and 427 of the Penal Code, covering offences related to rioting, causing hurt and causing damage.
He added that investigations are ongoing to determine what triggered the altercation and identify all individuals involved.
Members of the public with information on the incident are encouraged to assist police as investigations continue.
