Police are tracking down the owner, driver and two passengers of a blue Proton Wira after footage showed two men sitting on its roof while the car was moving along a road in Taman Puteri Wangsa, Ulu Tiram.
Johor Baru Selatan district police chief Assistant Commissioner Azrul Hisham Mohd Shaffei said police detected the video and photographs at 9am on Saturday.
He said the vehicle was seen travelling from Jalan Beladau 32 towards Jalan Bukit Jaya.
“Investigations are ongoing to identify the individuals involved,” he said in a statement.
The case is being investigated under Section 47 of the Road Transport Act 1987, which covers carrying a person outside a vehicle or in a manner that could interfere with the driver’s control and endanger other road users.

The New Straits Times reported yesterday that two men had been filmed sitting on the roof of the moving Proton Wira while a third person drove the car.
The footage, believed to have been recorded by a motorist travelling behind the vehicle, showed the men appearing unfazed as the car continued along the road.
At one point, the Wira slowed down near a speed breaker, causing the men to struggle to maintain their balance.
The person recording the video was heard reading out the vehicle’s registration number and identifying the location where the incident allegedly took place.
The video was later shared on Facebook, attracting more than 20,000 views and over 200 comments.
Many social media users condemned the stunt, questioning why anyone would risk their own lives and endanger other road users in such a manner.
Police have identified Taman Puteri Wangsa in Ulu Tiram as the location linked to the incident and are working to identify those involved.
