Police are investigating the death of an elderly man who was found dead at a care centre in the district on Saturday.
Kuala Muda District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Hanyan Ramlan said police received a report regarding the incident involving a 64-year-old man who was confirmed dead at the facility.
He said investigations are still ongoing to determine the exact cause of death.
“We received a report from the care centre involving a 64-year-old man who was confirmed dead at the premises.
“We also detected bruising on the body, but it is not believed to be the cause of death at this stage. The case has been classified as sudden death,” he said.
Hanyan added that several individuals have also had their statements recorded to assist in the investigation.
The body has been sent to Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital (HSAH) for a post-mortem examination.
