Police arrested a 24-year-old Indonesian woman and seized about 1.046kg of suspected methamphetamine during a raid at an eatery in RPR Batu Kawa on Wednesday.
Padawan district police chief Superintendent Barry William said the woman was detained at about 2.13pm during the operation.
He said an inspection of the suspect led to the discovery of a transparent plastic package marked ‘666’, containing crystal-like substances believed to be syabu.
“The package had a gross weight of 1,046 grammes,” he said in a statement.
Police also seized two mobile phones belonging to the suspect, which will be examined as part of the investigation.
Barry said checks showed that the Indonesian national had no previous criminal record, while an initial urine screening test returned a negative result.
The woman was detained to assist investigations, with the case being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
