A brief tornado-like phenomenon was believed to have occurred over a paddy field area along Jalan Tali Air 4, Sekinchan, earlier today.
Selangor Tourism and Local Government Committee chairman Datuk Ng Sue Lim said preliminary information indicated that the incident lasted for about three to four minutes.
The Sekinchan assemblyman said the phenomenon occurred at around 11.40am in the middle of a paddy field near the Sekinchan Terminal area.
He said the incident did not cause any injuries or damage, adding that authorities were thankful the situation did not result in any unwanted incidents.
“We are grateful that no damage occurred,” he said when contacted.
Earlier, a 57-second video showing what appeared to be a tornado forming across the paddy field went viral on social media.
The footage was believed to have been recorded by residents living around Jalan Tali Air 4, with the rare weather occurrence drawing public attention as the swirling wind formation moved across the farming area.
