Six entertainment and reflexology outlets in Klang, Petaling Jaya, Kajang and Kuala Langat were raided after they were allegedly found to be offering foreign women for prostitution services.
The raids were conducted on Thursday night under Op Noda by the Selangor Criminal Investigation Department (CID), with assistance from local authorities (PBT) and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). The operation began simultaneously at about 10.30pm.
A total of 59 individuals were detained during the operation, comprising 17 men and 42 women. Those arrested included two Malaysians, 39 Myanmar nationals, five Vietnamese, 12 Thais and one Indonesian.
Sources said initial investigations found that the premises were allegedly being used for entertainment activities as well as prostitution involving foreign nationals. Several items were also seized during the raids, including mobile phones, condoms, wet tissues, audio equipment and cash.
As part of the integrated operation, the local authorities sealed the premises involved, while TNB disconnected their electricity supply. The move highlights the authorities’ coordinated approach in tackling premises suspected of being linked to illicit activities.
Police have opened several investigation papers, including under Section 372B of the Penal Code for soliciting prostitution services. Investigations are also being conducted under Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for overstaying, as well as Section 6(1)(c) of the same Act for entering Malaysia without a valid permit.
The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), through its Criminal Investigation Department, said it would continue taking proactive action against criminal activities that could threaten the community.
Members of the public have also been urged to assist enforcement agencies by providing information on suspected criminal activities so that preventive and enforcement measures can be taken swiftly.
The detainees and seized items were subsequently taken to the Petaling Jaya, Kajang, North Klang and Kuala Langat district police headquarters for further investigation.
