Six-Year-Old Girl Left At Petrol Station, Parents Drive 130km Before Realising, Police Rescue Child

Date:

A six-year-old girl was safely reunited with her parents after being accidentally left behind at a petrol station in Thailand, with authorities stepping in after the family had already driven more than 130 kilometres away.

The incident, which has gone viral on social media, occurred on the evening of April 14, 2026, when the child was reportedly left at a service station while her parents stopped for a restroom break.

According to reports, the girl was travelling with family members, including her grandmother, after a trip to Cha-am in Phetchaburi province. She later told police she was unsure of her guardians’ contact details after realising she had been left behind.

Officers from Khao Din Police Station in Ratchaburi province were alerted to the situation and took the child into their care. As she was unable to provide her parents’ phone number, police used her full name to trace her family through official records.

Authorities were then able to locate and contact the parents, who had continued driving unaware that the child was missing. The family was instructed to return to Khao Din Police Station to collect her.

Police said the child appeared frightened initially, but officers comforted her while arrangements were made for her safe return.

The girl was later reunited with her parents at the station, ending the ordeal without harm. Authorities have since urged parents and guardians to take extra precautions when travelling with young children, especially during long-distance trips.
