Teacher Buries Newborn Alive Under Stones To Keep Job Safe

Date:

A horrifying case in India has shocked the nation after a newborn baby boy was found buried alive in a forest by his own parents. The discovery was made in Chhindwara district, Madhya Pradesh, where villagers heard cries coming from a stone pile in the Nandanwadi forest. Upon investigating, they uncovered the infant, only a few days old, with ants crawling all over his body and his temperature dangerously low. The baby was rushed to hospital and miraculously survived.

According to NDTV and India Today, doctors treating the child said he had multiple ant bites and severe hypothermia, and would likely have died if he had not been found in time. “His survival is nothing short of a miracle,” one doctor noted.

Police later identified the parents as Bablu Dandoliya, a government school teacher, and his wife, Rajkumari. The couple already had three children, and under India’s two-child policy for government employees, Bablu risked losing his job if he had another child. To hide the birth, he allegedly buried his newborn son in the forest shortly after his wife gave birth at home on September 23.

The case has sparked widespread outrage among locals, who condemned the act as “unthinkably cruel.” Authorities have charged the parents with child abandonment and are considering additional charges of attempted murder. Experts emphasized the disturbing nature of the case, pointing out that the perpetrators were not poor or uneducated, but an educated couple with secure employment who chose brutality over accountability.
