A teenage boy who reportedly left his family home after becoming upset over being barred from riding a motorcycle to school has since returned safely.

The teenager was reported to have left his home in Kampung Tasik Permai, Ampang, on Aug 20, prompting his family to lodge a missing person report with police.

Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Khairul Anuar Khalid said police received the report at around 1.45pm on Monday after the teenager’s father informed authorities that his son had been missing since Aug 20.

He said the teenager was described as approximately 145cm tall and weighing 45kg, with a fair complexion and without spectacles.

However, the teenager returned home at about 2am on Tuesday, bringing an end to the family’s anxious wait.

“Checks found that the teenager was safe and had not suffered any injuries,” Khairul Anuar said in a statement on Tuesday.

Police investigations found that the teenager had allegedly left home after becoming upset when his father refused to allow him to ride a motorcycle to school.

The incident ended without injury after the teenager returned home, with police confirming that he was in safe condition.
