Three Hurt In Morning Crash Along Kanowit-Song Road

Three people were injured after two cars collided along the Kanowit-Song Road near Ngungun Bridge on Friday morning.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received an emergency call at about 7.20am following the crash. Firefighters from the Kanowit Fire and Rescue Station reached the scene at approximately 7.54am to assist the victims.

Bomba Zone 4 Sibu chief Andy Alie said the 29-year-old female driver suffered back injuries and had been removed from her vehicle by members of the public before firefighters arrived.

He said the 43-year-old male driver of the second vehicle sustained injuries to his left leg and was extricated by firefighters at the scene.

The front passenger, a 46-year-old man, also suffered facial injuries and was helped out of the vehicle by members of the public before the arrival of the rescue team.

All three victims were given initial medical treatment at the scene before being taken by ambulance to Kanowit Hospital for further treatment. Their conditions were not disclosed.

Firefighters also conducted clean-up work at the crash site and ensured the area was safe before leaving.

The rescue and clean-up operation was concluded at 8.53am.
