Traffic Courtesy Goes Viral: Passenger Bows Repeatedly While Cutting Lanes

Date:

A car attempting to switch lanes in heavy traffic has gone viral for its unusually polite “cut-in” approach. The passenger in the front seat repeatedly bowed to the cars behind, signaling for them to give way, and even extended a cigarette in thanks—prompting one amused driver to comment, “Who could say no to such a polite cut-in?”

The clip, shared on social media platform Xiaohongshu by user “Drink and Exercise Both,” shows a black car seemingly realizing it had taken the wrong lane and trying to merge into a congested lane. During the maneuver, the front-seat passenger rolled down the window and kept bowing to the drivers behind, making playful gestures of gratitude, including offering a cigarette.

Netizens quickly reacted to the video, praising the passenger for being exceptionally courteous and calling the behavior “adorable.” Many commented that if all road users were this polite, everyone would be more willing to give way.
