Two 16-Year-Old Student Hurt in Schoolyard Clash; Two Teens in Custody

Police have arrested two teenage boys in connection with a brawl that took place in front of a local school last Saturday.

Lahad Datu District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Dzulbaharin Ismail, said a 16-year-old male student was reportedly injured after being attacked by a group during the incident.

“The victim sustained injuries to his face and head and received outpatient treatment at Lahad Datu Hospital. Two suspects, both aged 14, were detained on September 30 to assist in further investigations,” he stated in a press release today.

He added that police are still searching for several other suspects who remain at large.

“The case is being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of two years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both if convicted,” he said.
