Two Bodies Found Floating 100m Apart In Ampang Jajar River

Two bodies were found floating about 100 metres apart in a river near Ampang Jajar here this morning.

The victims were identified as a 46-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy.

Kedah Fire and Rescue Department Kota Setar Zone chief Senior Fire Superintendent I Ahmad Aminudin Abd Rahim said the department received an emergency call at about 8.45am regarding the discovery of the first body.

He said the first victim was found floating and caught on vegetation near a bridge upon arrival at the scene.

At about 10.16am, members of the public alerted authorities to a second body floating around 100 metres from the first location.

Firefighters initially prepared to retrieve the bodies, but police instructed that the process be delayed to allow an investigating officer to arrive.

After clearance was given, the first body was brought to the riverbank using an excavator, while the second was retrieved using a boat.

Both bodies were handed over to police for further action.
