Two UiTM Rembau Students Killed After Motorcycle Skids Off Road

Two students from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Rembau Campus were killed in a motorcycle accident along KM1 Jalan Chengkau–Panchang–Lubok Cina on Tuesday afternoon.

Rembau district police chief Superintendent Hasani Hussain said the incident occurred at about 4pm when the motorcycle they were riding allegedly skidded off the road.

The victims were identified as Ismawanie Husna Ismail, 19, and Nur Ain Zulaisya Zahrain, 19, both of whom died at the scene from severe head injuries.

“Preliminary investigations found that the two students, who were pursuing Diploma in Information Management and Diploma in Communication and Media studies, were travelling from UiTM Rembau towards Pekan Lubok Cina in clear weather,” he said in a statement.

He added that upon reaching a bend, the Yamaha NVX motorcycle ridden by Ismawanie Husna is believed to have lost control, skidded to the left side of the road and crashed into a guardrail.

The bodies were sent to Rembau Hospital for post-mortem examination. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
