A 16-second video capturing a dramatic chain-reaction motorcycle crash at a road junction has gone viral, sparking fresh debate over reckless riding on public roads.
The footage, which has been widely circulated on X, shows a large group of motorcyclists riding through a junction at night, with one rider performing a wheelie ahead of the pack moments before the crash.
Seconds later, one motorcycle slams into the rear of another rider in front, triggering a domino effect that sends several riders crashing to the ground as those following struggle to avoid the collision.
A white car travelling through the junction also appears to have been clipped by one of the motorcycles during the pile-up.
The video ends with multiple motorcycles scattered across the intersection while several riders are seen lying on the road. Other motorists can be seen slowing down and carefully manoeuvring past the crash scene.
The incident has fuelled widespread discussion on social media, with many users condemning the riders’ dangerous behaviour and urging authorities to step up enforcement against reckless riding.
Adding to the online reactions, the post was accompanied by a sarcastic caption referencing “minyak gamat”, a traditional herbal oil commonly used to treat cuts, scrapes and road rash. The phrase was used mockingly to suggest the injured riders would now need the ointment after engaging in what many described as irresponsible stunts.
