Police are tracking down a group of men allegedly seen setting off firecrackers on a road during a funeral procession in Section U14 here on Tuesday.
Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Sarudin Samah said police received a report today after a video of the incident went viral on social media.
Initial investigations found that the incident occurred at around 4.22pm as the funeral procession was making its way towards Bliss Garden Setia Alam cemetery.
“The viral video shows a group of men allegedly setting off firecrackers on the road.
“Investigations are ongoing to identify those involved in the activity as well as witnesses to the incident,” he said in a statement today.
The footage has since attracted attention online, with the incident occurring as the funeral procession was passing through the Jalan Hamzah intersection.
Police are continuing efforts to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and locate the individuals involved.
