The Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT KL) has arrested nine individuals after they were caught performing dangerous “wheelie” stunts and reckless motorcycle riding around Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Tun Razak and Jalan P. Ramlee.
According to JSPT KL, all those arrested are males aged between 15 and 18, with six identified as school students.
They are believed to have been involved as riders and pillion passengers in the risky stunts, which posed a danger to other road users.
The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.
JSPT KL said it will continue regular operations and monitoring at hotspot areas across the capital to curb illegal street riding activities.
Authorities also stressed that using public roads for stunt riding to create social media content is unacceptable, as it can lead to serious accidents and fatalities.
