An express bus driver has come under fire on social media after allegedly watching a live broadcast on his mobile phone while driving.
The incident sparked concern among users, who said the alleged behaviour could put passengers and other road users at risk, particularly if the driver became distracted while behind the wheel.
In a post on Threads, a user identified as Caachi7768 claimed the incident was recorded while they were travelling on the bus.
“I was wondering why the bus was swaying while I was sleeping, and the driver kept laughing while looking to the right. Turns out he was watching this live. This is crazy,” the user wrote.
The video shared in the post appeared to show the driver looking towards a mobile phone positioned on his right side while the bus was moving.
At the time, traffic on the road appeared relatively congested and was moving slowly.
The post prompted other social media users to share their own alleged experiences with the same bus company.
One user, Halimtiyaz, claimed passengers had previously faced issues involving scheduled rest stops.
“The bus is really terrible. They said there would be a 30-minute break for breaking fast and prayers, but they left in less than 30 minutes. I was left behind at the Temerloh R&R. Luckily, a kind person gave me a ride to Kuantan. The bus driver acted as if nothing happened,” the user commented.
Another user, Sarayiem, also criticised the service, claiming the bus had previously been delayed by several hours.
“I hate this bus. It was extremely late, delayed by almost four to five hours. I’m never taking it again,” the user wrote.
