Widespread Thunderstorm Warning Issued Across Malaysia Until 5 PM

Heavy thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are forecast across several Malaysian states and territories until 5:00 pm on Tuesday, 24 February 2026. Areas expected to be affected include:

  • Kedah: Kulim and Bandar Baharu
  • Perak: Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang, and Muallim
  • Pahang: Cameron Highlands, Raub, and Bentong
  • Selangor: Hulu Selangor, Gombak, and Hulu Langat
  • Federal Territory: Kuala Lumpur
  • Negeri Sembilan: Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Rembau, and Tampin
  • Melaka: Alor Gajah
  • Sarawak: Kuching (Bau and Kuching), Samarahan, Mukah (Tanjung Manis, Daro, and Matu), Miri (Telang Usan), and Limbang
  • Sabah: Interior regions (Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Nabawan, Keningau, and Tambunan), West Coast, and Sandakan
  • Federal Territory: Labuan

A thunderstorm warning is issued when signs indicate rainfall exceeding 20 mm/hour is occurring or expected to persist for over an hour. Each thunderstorm alert is short-term and remains valid for no longer than six hours per issuance.
