Woman Critically Injured In Suspected Electrocution At Taman Ria Jaya Substation

Date:

A woman has been found with severe burn injuries after she was believed to have suffered an electric shock inside a Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) substation room at Taman Ria Jaya on Saturday.

Kuala Muda district police chief Assistant Commissioner Hanyan Ramlan said the victim was rushed to Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital for emergency treatment after being discovered in critical condition.

He said the woman is currently in a serious state and has been sedated due to burns covering around 70 per cent of her body.

So far, the victim’s identity has not been established, and police are working to gather further information to determine who she is.

Authorities are also conducting a full investigation to obtain more details surrounding the incident and to clarify the circumstances leading up to it.

Police have not ruled out the possibility that the incident may be linked to alleged cable theft activities in the area, although investigations are still ongoing.
