A woman believed to be of Rohingya ethnicity has drawn online criticism after allegedly putting trousers on her child inside a bus following an incident in which the child urinated at a bus stop.
In a post on Threads, user @sush1tz claimed the woman had allowed the child to urinate at a bus stop at Ampang Point without cleaning the child before boarding the bus.
The user questioned the woman’s alleged lack of hygiene and urged the public transport operator to look into the incident.
In response, Rapid KL asked the user to provide further details so that appropriate action could be taken.
“Greetings, could you share the bus route number or registration number? If you are still on the bus, you can also inform the bus captain so that action can be taken. Thank you,” Rapid KL commented.
The post prompted various reactions from netizens, with some urging the relevant parties to take appropriate measures to maintain cleanliness on public transport.
One user sarcastically called on non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to organise a clean-up effort at places allegedly left dirty.
“NGOs should do charity work by cleaning up. Today is Friday. Go and find places that have been dirtied and get together to clean them. Since they are supposedly the ones who care most about humanity,” the user commented.
Another netizen also expressed dissatisfaction over the alleged incident, criticising the behaviour and raising concerns about personal hygiene.
“Oh dear, they have no manners, do not maintain cleanliness and have no sense of shame. Isn’t cleanliness a priority in Islam?” the user said.
